Apologies for my tardiness - things have been hectic to say the least round our place lately. More on that later (maybe).
In the meantime just a quickie...
Little Bear is a drama queen. She loves to role play and will stay in her chosen role for a very long time (this from the child with the attention span of a gnat). She will have very long and detailed 'conversations' of which we only ever hear her half and it is clear from her responses that the other 'person' is saying or asking some very complicated things. It is quite incredible to listen to her.
On to the story...
Tonight I somehow got myself involved in a very vigorous game with little bear where I ended up holding her (kind of lying in my arms) while we tried to pretend to eat each other up. I became quite exhausted & so I closed my eyes, started rocking her & began to sing Rock-A-Bye-Baby. Little Bear, ever the actress, went from mid "bite" to closing her eyes & pretending to sleep. I then gently lay her on the couch kissed her 'goodnight' and went to make dinner. She stayed 'in character' lying on the couch for a good 10 minutes pretending to be asleep and never once complained that I wasn't playing with her anymore. Eventually it must have been time to wake up, because up she got & went to play with her toys.
Have you ever? ...
Mopping up the remains of my mind.
