I'm new at this blogging business so here goes nothing ...

Just a quick note to say hello and explain the business behind the blog.

The name "Castle In The Air". A castle in the air represents a dream or a fantasy. Doesn't every little girl want her castle in the air when she grows up. This metaphor stands for different things with different people, but everyone wants something right ??? As far as this blog goes, this metaphor is representative of my family, my home, my life (or how I would like them to be??)

My avatar "Chimera". A Chimera is a mythical beast with the head of a lion, body of a goat, the tail of a snake & the breath of a dragon. (This changes slightly depending on which myth you believe). As my son is known as Cheetah, my daughter as Little Bear, and my nephews as Lion & Dragon, I thought the Chimera was a fitting avatar. And as any mother knows, a chimera appropriately defines that role in oh so many ways. (Except the Chimera of mythology lacks the balance of a softer creature - perhaps the arms of a bunny rabbit - that mothers must also possess)....

It's getting late, can you tell? But I didn't want to go to bed without posting this first post.

The Chimera
